Tonia Antonis and Jeff Irving have decided to leave the club and race for 53 – 12 because they have close connections with Ed Page. Tonya’s role as ladies captain will be taken over by Kate Stannett.

Steve Robinson has decided to resign as Men’s captain for personal reasons and is replaced by Nick Collinson.

Ian Duggan is resigning as development officer. The post is being amalgamated with that of Webmaster and press officer into a role of Communications officer to which Charlie Stannett has been appointed. (See article below)

Justin Hender has just become a dad (Congratulations Justin) and is relinquishing his role as Webmaster. Many thanks to Justin for all his work on the website since he took over.

Denis Spashett in addition to his role as Junior coordinator, is assuming the role of Eastern District representative on the Eastern area committee.

I am sure that you would join with me in thanking those members who are retiring from their positions for all their hard work over the years and wishing their successors all the best in their new posts.

Membership is now due. It is still a bargain. I enclose a reapplication form for 2004. We do need the form filled in and signed because it keeps our database up to date and also your signature to abide by the club constitution is important for insurance purposes.

Training, development & the website by Charlie Stannett and Girlies captain Kate Stannett

In many respects, we are Suffolk tri club rather than Ipswich: being so geographically dispersed makes it difficult to arrange & maintain a weekly club night. However many of us do meet up frequently, often at races, often as members of other parallel organisations, sometimes as informal training partners. In agreeing to take on "development" I said I would look at using the website to build a catalogue of such arrangements so that each of us could customise our own virtual club involvement. I am also seeking out other groups with parallel training patterns.

It looks like my Christmas will include rebuilding the website so as well as thanking Justin for looking after the site hitherto could I ask you please to let me know of any arrangements you have which could be shared with others. Can you also let me know what you would hope to find on the website. And, if you are of a female persuasion, Kate says please let her know what specifically you would like to develop (and, Tonya, thank you for your inspirational captaincy a hard act to follow).

The 2 club places for the London Marathon were drawn at the AGM. Congratulations to Gary Matthews and Nick Collinson who were the 2 to qualify for places. We wish then well in their training.
