Club championships

This is a final reminder that the Ipswich triathlon club championships will be decided this coming Sunday, 1st July, by members' performances in the Norwich triathlon.  It is planned to recognise the various winners as part of an extended club night on Thursday, 5th July, at Greshams, when we will also be presented with our "ClubMark".

For the purposes of the club championships, we are combining categories:

• Male: open; vet (BT categories H-I); "super" vet (J+)
• Female: open; vet (BT categories H-I); "super" vet (J+)

We are following the "only one prize" model. In the case of someone placing (say) 2nd open but 1st vet they should take the higher ranking award i.e. 1st vet.

Club kit should be worn - so you know who you are racing - but only first claim members (with respect to triathlon) are eligible. (So if you are first claim Stowmarket Striders for running events but first claim ITC for triathlon, then you are eligible. But you're not eligible if you are competing as a first claim member of - say - Wimbledon triathlon club.)

Thursday 5th July - extended club night at Greshams, Tuddenham Road, Ipswich

        6.00 - 7.00 pm - Juniors Training Session
        6.30 pm - Presentation of Clubmark Award
        7:00 - 8.30 pm - TAG Rugby session (see John's article in last ITCH for details)
        9.00 pm - Presentation of Club Champs medals in bar (the actual trophies won’t be retrieved from the current holders until later in the year, when they will be engraved for presentation at the club AGM)

Some members will be doing a normal training session in parallel but (in theory at least!) everybody should be able to coincide in the bar at 9:00.

The ITCH league

Although the league does not count toward the club championship, the club championship can count toward the league, provided you wear club kit.
